Painter in Elwood

I work remodeling wood floors and outdoor Decking. I also paint. I use the best paints and stains for the best results. True Value Paint, while not deemed top of the line to some, if you use the right kinds you can get pretty good results with it to save yourself some cash. Their Paint & Primer paints lay on pretty thick and can be knocked out in 2 coats. Lately, I have been a fan of satin and flat paints with flat painted white trim, it seems to have a modern look to it with a hint of an antique look . Or you could go with a semi-gloss or satin paint, and use flat white paint for the trim. I think flat and satin paints have a clean look to them, especially if using louder, brighter colors. If you like paints with a higher gloss, we can do some cool color combinations as well with accent walls if you choose. *Dual Colored Doors: I can paint a door two colors, for example a door in my home is charcoal on the inside and white on the outside. I tape the seam of the door all the way around and apply two is what I call the Alice in Wonderland Door. I can do this for you as well. If you have kids who want a fun color inside their room, one side of the door can be that color, and the outside of the door can match the hallway leading to the room....and the paints will split at the seam of the door where the door latch is. It is a cool way to paint a door for adults and youngsters. Select what you want at the following sites, these paints are what I typically use ( If you don't know I can help you) True Value is the least expensive of the 3, but if it is laid down properly it can be a good way to save some cash: * Decking & Wood Floors: I like using oil based clear coats when re-finishing wood floors....oil based products have always laid better when it comes to wood and the finish is top of the line. If the floor is rough, I like to use a Satin (low gloss finish), such gives the floor an antique look with a crisp appearance. The cleaner the floor, the higher the gloss i like to use. With Decking and outdoor wood surfaces I use a power washer to clean the surface and then apply the stain after it is clean. Some folks will spray on stain or use a roller, for wood floors and decking whether applying stain or clear coating, I like to use a quality 4 to 6 inch brush. It lays down the best for me, and you don't have to worry about any overspray getting on anything else. For sanding I use an orbital sander, I try to avoid using floor strippers when at all possible. My background would be with Lewis Construction out of Ponce Inlet in Florida. My father is a general contractor in Florida. We remodel million dollar condos and homes in Daytona Beach, Ponce Inelt, and surround areas on the Florda east coast.I now live in Indiana. Give me a call or text me --... for estimates.
