Painter in Oklahoma City

I am originally from Mexico City, beginning my glass career as an apprentice artisan at the studio of Carlos Zegarra-Malatesta. In 2000, I started a three year program at the prestigious School of Glass and Jewelry (Berufsfachschule fuer Glass und Schmuck) in Kaufbeuren-Neugablonz, Germany. Although studying all aspects of the glass arts, my primary area of interest was the traditional glass painting most commonly seen in European Cathedrals. I focused on lamp working beads during my studies as well. Upon graduation, I accepted an instructor position at the School of Arts (lEcole des Arts de Braine-lAlleud) near Brussels, Belgium. In addition to working as an instructor, I performed restorations part time for numerous clients and at the studio of Pierre Majerus, in Brussels. I also gave private lessons for my more advanced students. In 2005, I met my husband and moved to Oklahoma City! Since arriving in the States, my focus has been primarily on lamp working beads and I have attended classes with numerous artists to improve my techniques. In the past year, I have also taken a seminar to improve my knowledge of enamels as used in glass painting. I am also available for private lessons or able to perform restorations if desired. I recently started a new blog to display my work. However, please be patient as I am not in the habit of posting regularly yet and don't have all my work shown. http://....com/ I love glass!
