Painter in Midland, Texas

I began Gayvenda's Gems and Hues 5 years ago, after a long illness. It has given me my passion back in creating beauty for others to enjoy. I have been painting for over 30 years . I studied Fine Arts at the University of North Texas. I paint both in oils and acrylics. I'm having an exhibit at Tx Tech Health & Science Center in Odessa, Tx in May 2016. I do a commissioned painting after a careful study of the animals I paint or the person. I take many photos to get an understanding of the personality and take into consideration the favorite colors and likes of the person or pet. I am a very diverse artist in that I do portraits, still lifes, florals, landscapes, abstracts and design. I pay attention to detail as to what decor or style a person likes, also.
