Highly Skilled Painter looking for small jobs throughout San Diego County. I am a recently honorably discharged Marine and I am currently in the process of finishing the last steps to acquire my painting contractor’s license (California Contractors License, Class C – 33). I have 10 years experience painting, starting as a pressure washer for a large painting firm in Chico CA. Over the years I have ran painting crews as well as managed a painting company. I am knowledgeable from start to finish on interior and exterior with all various sidings and textures. With both interior and exterior work, the prep work is a place where some people come up short, I strive to fix and repair all problem areas, this protecting the property from further damage. For nearly all exterior work I pressure wash the surfaces and include a bio safe cleaner that removes unwanted material and insures the paint adheres to the surface properly. All stucco is sprayed and back rolled to insure complete coverage and protection. I can also do drywall repair work with blended texturing and removing texturing (popcorn ceilings) if desired. I always use a 20 year caulk for areas that require it, and have different colors upon request to match tiles or other accents. Bathrooms and kitchens tend to be problem areas in houses, I utilize TSP to remove body products that typically end up on the walls and then depending on the case, try to encourage 2 coats of a semi-gloss paint which I add a mold blocker in. Although expensive at times, I use a very high quality primer in any area that needs it. Before any paint hits the walls you can be assured that the prep work performed was exactly what was required, and sometimes more. I have my own sprayer and can refinish doors as well as floorboards, with oil or latex paint. I am also proficient in cabinet refinishing. I have a multitude of faux tools to create many different textures as well as stencils and decorative additions for clients who would like to create boarders without wall paper. I can create striped walls or pled if you so pleased. The last 2 years of my painting work I painted exclusively new, high end custom homes which required a final product that was near flawless; I continue to work in this manner, treating every job the same assuring that my final work makes whatever I am working on the best in could possibly look. Lastly I am very conscious of cleanliness and strive to only leave paint where it belongs; protecting client’s homes and their possessions is a high priority. I try to leave each job cleaner than how I found it; this includes cleaning the paint in a designated area. I own all my own equipment including ladders and sprayers. I have a drop cloths and other protective material for nearly every situation. I am punctual and work 8-10 hour days, possibly longer if the situation calls for it. I have several letters of recommendation from people in North County as well as Northern California. Included with these recommendations I also have various pictures that show the wide variety of work I have completed over the years as well as the quality. I am not only a recently discharged Marine but a full time student as well; all of my classes are after 5 or online, meaning that my days are free for work. This also means that I willing to offer my labor at a fraction on what I will be charging once I am licensed. I am using this time to give people a great quality paint job at a fraction of the price to help my company once I am fully operational. Due to the fact that I am not licensed, the state of California will only allow me to do jobs that do not exceed 500 dollar. I will not bend on this law, I have a very good reputation / no criminal record and I want to ensure my license is issued and that I give my soon to be company a chance to grow, problem free. With every job, even under $500, I always have a written agreement with job specifics as well as a portion on the document that states I have FULL HEALTH COVERAGE, and I would take responsibility in case of a medical accident to myself.
