Need a summer job? Student Painters is hiring full time painters for this summer. We are a national painting company that has been around since 1987 and are looking for hard working, polite and driven students over 18 to come paint with us this summer in Cumming, Georgia. There is no experience required, because training will be provided by Sherwin Williams, our corporate partner. You will work 35-40 hours per week every week starting early May and will go to the first week of August. This is a great opportunity to work outside and in a team environment. This is also a great way to build your resume up as you will be part of a well rounded team full of ambitious students looking to get ahead in life as well as you will get customer references from homeowners. We are also looking for one painter that will become the production manager who will be in charge of leading the team in day to day activities. You will also be managing each job to ensure the job is finished correctly and efficiently. Expectations: Culture: Student Painters of Cumming is comprised of a team, not a group of individuals All members are expected to work together as a single unit, making everyone's job easier and more fun! This is more than just a summer job, this is a learning experience for everyone involved Make the most of everyday! Most importantly, have fun! Schedule Hours: Painters are expected to work 35-40 hours a week We start at 7:00a.m. and end the day 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and Friday only if it rains If you have any vacations planned please inform me at the beginning of summer For any days needed off a two week notice is required There is a no tolerance policy for a no-show We will start painting at 7:00a.m. meaning you need to be on the job site no later than 6:50 a.m. Three strike policy: 1st time late will result in a warning 2nd late will result in dismissal for the day 3rd late will result in being dismissed permanently Lunch: Painters will be given a one hour unpaid lunch. It is recommended that you bring your lunch to save on travel time Weather: There are no assumed rain days You will be notified if it is raining badly enough that we have to delay If we have a delay we will follow the weather policy Duties: Every painter is expected to arrive refreshed and ready for the days work. Painters are expected to complete every task as needed I.e. sand, scrape, prime, caulk, paint, and clean up If you spill paint or drip paint on something you must clean it right away to protect the home In addition painters may be asked to also perform marketing tasks Painters will be compensated $10 for every lead that becomes a job as a result Each painter is expected to treat every home like it is your own Be polite and courteous in both your speech and manner (we work in customer service) Profanity will not be tolerated If a painter causes damage to a home or the property notify me immediately - the damages will come out of that painter’s pay check If you are caught working without a drop cloth underneath you, you will be fined ½ hour of pay Music is permitted Be mindful of kids and animals (Close any gates that you open) Texting or taking phone calls is not allowed during work hours No smoking or dipping on the job Equipment: Each painter is responsible for their own equipment All ladders, a sprayer, and a power washer are all provided Each painter needs to buy their own brush (Purdy 2.5” angled sash) One brush can last all summer You must have a wet and dry rag near you at all times while painting to clean up spills and drips Attire: Student Painter T-Shirts Painters must wear their Student Painters shirts on each job. Shirts must be worn at all times You may acquire additional shirts for $12ea. that will be taken out of your check You are to wear shorts or pants that you can get paint on (pockets are very helpful) Hats may be worn Tennis shoes or work boots must be worn, no exceptions Money: Painters will start at $8.25 per hour Production Manager will start at $9.25 per hour Raises will be given based upon performance and must be earned Extra bonuses will be given based on the quality of work our team produces There is a $.25 bonus taken from your hourly pay that will be given at the end of the summer to all painters that stay the whole summer The bonus will be untaxed pay We pay on “piece-rate” from the budgeted hours Checks will be distributed every two weeks Check out our website at: www.....biz To apply, email or call me.
