Have a very hard working attitude and aim to please having great rapport with customers. My responsibilities include: • Applied paint to surfaces including canvas, drywall, floors, doors, trim, and cabinets. • Mixed, matched, and applied paint, stain, varnish, shellac, and other finishes. • Scraped, sanded, primed, or sealed surfaces prior to painting. • Cleaned walls to ensure proper adherence. • Covered surfaces with plastic and/or drop cloths to ensure protection. • Calculate amounts of required materials and estimated costs. • Filled cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. • Erected scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moved furniture and equipment as necessary. • Worked on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls. • Removed fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting. • Taped off areas when needed. • Applied touchups or second coats. • Removed paint splatters and cleaned floors when finished. • Cleaned up all equipment, including brushes and roller set ups. • Selected and bought paint from vendors. • Negotiated prices with customers.
