Painter in Forest Lake, Minnesota

I'm an
Agency / Company
Dear Home Owner, My name is Stone Anderson and I am the local branch manager for College Works Painting in the area. All of my painters are trained and certified through Sherwin Williams in every aspect of exterior painting and staining. College Works also leads the industry with a 97% customer satisfaction rating! I’m a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato majoring in Ecology. I enjoy outdoor activities, hunting and fishing, and spending time with family and friends. This summer, I will be managing crews of skilled painters who do high quality exterior paint jobs for an affordable price. Make your house stand out among the area by letting me paint it! Please give me a call for a free estimate or if you would like to know more. Remember, a quality paint job for an affordable price is just a phone call away! Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you! The College Works Experience: 1. Detailed, Custom Project Estimates As I mentioned on the phone, I like to be much more detailed than the average contractor. I believe that the start to a great project is making sure that I am providing you exactly what you would like done. When I come to do the estimate this weekend, we can sit down and discuss your requests and all of your options, as well as how I plan to provide you with a great paint job, and exactly how we come up with the cost for your project. We can then take a quick walk around your house to point out specifically what you’d like done this summer. After that, you’re free to relax while I calculate the numbers. From there, I’ll show you both the details to your job and what I came up with, and if everything looks good, we can get you a spot in my summer schedule. 2. Communication After we get you set up for the summer, I will make sure you always know what’s going on. I will be putting my personal cell phone number right on the contract, and can guarantee that you will always be able to reach me. 3. Design Consultation Test Patch Sample A few weeks prior to starting the job, I will set up a time to come out and put up a small test patch of your chosen colors in order to see if it is exactly what you were envisioning. This way, if we need to make any changes or preparations for the project, we can do that with enough time to get the job done on schedule. 4. Quality We stress the importance of doing the prep work correctly. Any contractor will hopefully make your house look good; not only will we do that, but with the proper prep work, your paint job will also last for years to come. To show our confidence, every project completed by College Works comes with a written 1-5 Year Quality Guarantee. 5. Top of the line Materials Consumer Search rates Sherwin Williams as the Best Exterior Paint Product; due to this, we typically recommend their Professional Grade Paints and Stains. Every College Works Branch Manager is personally assigned to a local Sherwin Williams Sales Representative to assist as needed in the decision of product and design selection. 6. Daily Cleanup Nightly Walk-Around At the end of every day, my crews will clean up all of the equipment and place it neatly under a tarp at a discrete location behind the house. After that, either my crew chief or I will happily walk you around the house to show you exactly what we did for the day, and the plan for tomorrow so that we can always be on the same page. 7. Final Walk-Around After the job has been completed, I will set up a time to meet with you and do a final walk around of your home. At this point, I will make sure everything is exactly how you wanted it, and if there is anything that needs to be done differently, we will take care of it before we ask for the final payment. Reserving your Spot in my Summer: 10% Booking Discount As I had mentioned, I’ll be working with a select group of clients this summer and I book this work in the springtime. In order to guarantee your spot in my summer schedule, I do require a 25% deposit, which also sets me up for the material costs of your job. When I’m out here this weekend, I will be able to take 10% off the total price of the job for putting down a deposit at the time of the estimate. The reason I can offer this 10% discount is because it saves me time and money following up with you, so I am happy to pass those savings on to you. The discount typically means several hundred dollars, and I will make sure to break out the price of the job with and without this discount so that you can see how much you will be saving. Frequently Asked Questions About College Works Painting: Who actually does the painting? Each Branch Manager is responsible for hiring his or her own crew painters, but all painters are carefully screened and educated in the College Works Painting process. In addition, Branch Managers and Crew Chiefs undergo a supplemental training put on by Sherwin Williams. With the law change in 2010, is College Works a Lead-Safe Certified company? Yes, in fact every Branch Manager is individually certified as a Lead-Safe Renovator. Since 2010, having work done from a non-Lead-Safe Renovator puts both the contractor AND the homeowner at a risk of a $10,000 fine. Being the nation’s largest residential painting company, our upcharge price for Lead-Safe projects is significantly less than what other contractors can afford to charge. How do your prices compare to other contractors? There is no other painting contractor in the nation who can give you more value for your money. Although you can’t “test drive” your paint job before you purchase it, here is some information to help you “kick the tires”: College Works gets the steepest discounts available on top-of-the-line, 100% acrylic paint with no photosensitive additives, and our labor costs are among the lowest in the industry. Furthermore, we carry $1 million in liability insurance, have full worker’s compensation coverage, and industry-topping guarantees on both our workmanship and materials. How does your guarantee work? College Works Painting, not the individual Branch Manager, backs the Guarantee of Quality on the home—so if you sell your house, the warranty transfers to the new homeowner. If a paint job fails, you simply call the number on your warranty papers and a customer service representative will arrange the service to your home. Whereas most companies offer an empty “paint only” guarantee from the paint manufacturer, College Works Painting backs both the materials and the labor for a minimum of one full year. Will they be practicing on my house? Are they just learning how to paint? Each Branch Manager is put through an extensive training program during the spring months so that he or she is completely prepared to take care of your home. The experience of painters varies per crew, but the Branch Manager will be directly responsible for their performance. We guarantee that you, like thousands of others, will be happy with our work. Do you do handyman work, mow lawns, etc.? No, we focus on what we do best—exterior painting. What is the training process the Branch Managers go through? The College Works Training Program is designed to teach students about every aspect of the residential painting business assuming no prior knowledge of the industry. The learning process involves independent study of training manuals, seven rigorous days of classroom instruction, and hands-on training in the field. At all times, Branch Managers are under the direct supervision of experienced District Managers who excelled in the program the previous year. Why not hire a “professional” painter or someone who has personally been painting longer? A paint job is only as good as its prep work. Whether you’ve prepped for 20 years or 20 days, scraping and sanding requires the same amount of time and effort. Additionally, since a “professional” painter may choose to retire in a year or two, his “warranty” is only as good as his word. Why not paint myself? Our trained crew of two painters will spend roughly 50-60 labor hours on an average house. Assuming you paint as quickly as our crews, you will need to set aside at least one-third of your summer weekends to complete the project. Also, paying the retail, non-College Works negotiated cost of the paint and equipment will significantly shrink your potential monetary savings. If you do, however, choose to embark on this endeavor, feel free to use us as a resource for questions and tips based on our experience! CALL TODAY FOR A FREE ESTIMATE!!
